Developing Animated Themes^TM

The Animated Themes that Animated Today uses are just like ordinary Today themes (.tsk files) but have had the animation component injected into them. The Animated Theme Injector will take a standard Flash SWF file and inject it into a normal Today theme.

Creating the Theme file (.tsk)

The theme file is created using the Animated Theme Injector either on its own, or in combination with an existing theme designer (such as the Microsoft Today Theme Generator).

Use the Animated Theme Injector to overlay the Flash animation onto the Today screen background..

Creating the Flash Movie (.swf)

Macromedia Flash is a web animation package that creates powerful and compact animations suitable for the web and smart devices. To create Macromedia Flash movies you need to purchase Macromedia Flash MX as detailed below.

A cheaper option for designing Flash animations is Swish available from SwishZone.com.

Once you have a copy of Macromedia Flash, you need to learn how to create animations and program using Flash. There are a number of resources on the net which can help with this including the site dedicated to Mobile Flash (Flash Enabled) and the general Flash programming site (FlashKit).
